This environmental management degree program is designed to help prepare you for high-level roles in government agencies; industrial, commercial, non-profit, non-governmental, and military organizations; and more. At UMGC, you can progress at your own pace, network with your peers, and learn from instructors and industry leaders who currently work in the field. Our graduates may pursue careers in environment and safety analysis, sustainability management, environmental policy analysis, environmental science, climate change, and more.
You don't need to have majored in any specific area to be successful in the environmental management master's degree at UMGC. However, we do recommend that you have successfully completed at least one undergraduate course in chemistry and one in biology. Environmental education history (such as environmental science, environmental policy, or other environmental studies experience) or prior professional experience is also helpful. Strong writing skills are also encouraged in this program.
