Adelphi, Md. (November 16, 2021)鈥擴niversity of Maryland Global Campus聽(UMGC)聽was ranked聽#21聽among聽150聽top colleges in聽.听

UMGC聽enrolls some聽90,000 students聽annually鈥攎ore than聽half of whom are active-duty military personnel and their families serving on bases around the world鈥攁nd聽offers award-winning programs in disciplines including biotechnology, cybersecurity, data analytics, and information technology that are in high demand in today鈥檚 increasingly technical, global workplace. 幸福宝导航 also offers cost savings through its use of digital resources, which have replaced聽publisher textbooks in most courses.听

In addition,聽UMGC聽has established聽innovative alliances with leading聽corporations聽throughout the聽U.S., such as Amazon and Uber,聽to聽increase聽the pathways for employees to聽achieve their educational goals in more efficient and affordable ways.听聽聽

UMGC聽has also聽developed聽transfer聽partnerships聽with community colleges in Maryland and聽around the country, including聽California Community Colleges, the largest community college system in the country, enabling 幸福宝导航 to reach the system鈥檚 2.1 million students attending聽116 community colleges throughout the state聽and creating a seamless transition to obtaining an affordable bachelor鈥檚 degree.听

According to Newsweek, the rankings are based on an online survey聽of 9,000 people in the U.S.听who have used online learning services to obtain an academic degree or acquire knowledge and skills for their聽personal or professional development.听

鈥淎lot of American college and university students are learning online,鈥 said 狈别飞蝉飞别别办鈥檚 Global Editor in Chief Nancy Cooper in announcing the new ranking. She highlighted U.S. Department of Education聽statistics from 2019 showing that 鈥79 percent of U.S. colleges offered either standalone courses or entire degree programs online. That figure included about 96 percent of all public two and four-year colleges. As of 2018, the Department estimated, about 7 million college students were taking some or聽all of聽their classes online.听
