Museum's Cyber Center for Education and Innovation, Ҹ and National Cryptologic School to Increase Cybersecurity Education for all Ages
Fort Meade, Md. (Oct. 1, 2019)—The National Cryptologic Museum Foundation’s Cyber Center for Education and Innovation (CCEI) and University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) are pleased to announce the signing of a trilateral Agreement. This agreement was signed with the National Security Agency’s National Cryptologic School at a ceremony at Ft. Meade, Maryland.
An innovative endeavor, this trilateral agreement brings together the unique specialties and expertise of the three organizations. CCEI brings the history, experience and externally-facing presence from its National Cryptologic Museum Foundation roots. UMGC is a recognized leader in cybersecurity education and brings its decades of experience in meeting workforce needs at scale. NSA’s National Cryptologic School brings knowledge and practical experience in cybersecurity education and operational experience to both military and civilian affiliates across the globe. NSA is looking to explore this partnership for the sustainment of its cyber curriculum project and its GenCyber program.
Ms. Diane M Janosek, the commandant of NSA’s National Cryptologic School, is excited about the energy supporting this agreement and mutual investment. “Our three institutions are coming together to make our nation safe by promoting and enhancing cutting-edge and quality educational opportunities and classroom material for all ages,” Janosek said. “Cybersecurity is a team sport. This effort is good for all Americans.”
Highly skilled professionals in math, engineering and science are required in the private and public workspace, now and in the future. Javier Miyares, president of UMGC, views the agreement as an exemplar for other organizations. “The demand for cybersecurity and other STEM professionals will continue to explode. It’s critical to the nation’s prosperity and security that relevant stakeholders leverage their respective strengths to build the talent pipeline,” he said.
CCEI is dedicated to explaining the vital role cryptology, signals intelligence, and cybersecurity has played, and currently contributes in defending our nation. “We have a unique history and expertise to share. CCEI will be the bridge to build and navigate pathways to educate children and adults from ages five to 100,” said CCEI CEO Laura Nelson during the signing ceremony held at the National Cryptologic Museum.
This agreement will serve the whole nation by enhancing access to quality cybersecurity educational materials and opportunities.
