UMUC Teams with Montgomery College to Host Free Event that Features a Panel Discussion on the Cybersecurity Industry, Advice on Career Paths, and Live Hacking Demo
Adelphi, Md. (Feb. 12)—University of Maryland University College is teaming up with Montgomery College for an after-school event geared toward high school and current community college students, as well as recent graduates who are looking to further their education and anyone who would like to learn more about the field of cybersecurity.
The event will feature a panel discussion about today’s cyber industry, opportunities to meet with academic advisors to map out a path forward in your cyber education, and information about scholarships, including UMUC’s Maryland Completion Scholarship, which enables Maryland community college graduates to earn a UMUC bachelor’s degree for $12,000 or less.

Mike Janke, the co-founder of DataTribe, is master of ceremonies for the event, which includes featured speaker Clark Golestani, advisor for C Sensei Group, LLC, and former president of Emerging Businesses and global chief information officer for the global pharmaceutical company, Merck. There will also be a panel discussion on today’s cyber industry that includes Francine Blume, associate vice president for career development at UMUC, and Conrad Shand, a UMUC graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in cybersecurity.

About Cybersecurity Degree Programs at UMUC and Montgomery College:
UMUC was the first university in Maryland to offer fully online programs in cybersecurity.
